Consider ARPA-Funded Contract for Housing Market Analysis, a study to outline unmet housing needs in Matthews. One potential use for ARPA funds is affordable housing and this study will shine a light on what is needed.
Consider ARPA-Funded Premium Pay Policy for Town Employees. The board will discuss the use of federal ARPA dollars to provide supplemental pay to lower wage-earning categories of town staff.
Receive Update on Greenway Issues: If you’ve ever lost something on the Greenway, now you know where you might find it!
News Around Town: A Matthews man will be moving out of a rental and into a home thanks to Veterans United Home Loans. Andre Hughes, a veteran Navy aviation tech, recently received news that he was one of 11 recipients of homes as part of the #ThanksToVeterans campaign.
One Good Thing: This Friday morning, November 19, wake up early and check out the moon. At approximately 4am the peak of the longest partial lunar eclipse of the 21st century should be visible from Matthews. What makes it special? November's full Moon, called a Beaver Moon as the large, semiaquatic rodents retire to their lodges this time of year, will begin to turn a reddish-copper color as it is eclipsed by the earth. At its peak, 97% of the moon’s surface will be that copper color, gradually returning to its more common pale silver over the following 104 minutes.
