News About Town: Early preparations have begun with forethought for Andrew Caroline Drive. Traveling down Matthews Mint Hill Road you may notice two small planting strips in the road, The completion of Andrew Caroline Drive will be midway between the two. This road extension will create a connector street between Sam Newell and Matthews Mint Hill Roads. The extension was initially included in the Downtown Master Plan. A newer alignment was approved during the June 25, 2018 Board of Commissioners meeting.

News Above Town:  If you didn’t get your lawn mowed this past weekend you’re going to have to wait. The Weather Channel is calling for a high around 87 degrees and scattered thunderstorms.  Who’s ready for a visit from Florence?

News Around Town:  Greater Matthews Habitat for Humanity has built over 100 homes in the Matthews area over the past three decades. This past weekend they broke ground on their newest home in Matthews. Habitat accepts construction volunteers of any experience level to aid in their builds.
