Interesting items include pursuing private partnerships to fund town goals such as a future dog park at Purser-Hulsey Park. Several transportation items are on the agenda, such as an interesting maneuver required to enter Fullwood Station, an update of the Mobility and Parking Plan, and amendments to the Comprehensive Transportation Plan.
News Around Town: When all other holiday plans have gone awry, gingerbread houses stand true. Have no fear, the Matthews Chamber of Commerce is still hosting their annual Gingerbread House Contest. Drop off your entry at the Chamber (210 Matthews Station Street) anytime between December 1 to December 4 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm for judging on on Saturday, December 5 at 12 pm. The earlier the drop off the better, space is limited and this is an increasingly popular holiday tradition. Houses will be on display at the Matthews Welcome Center (the Chamber HQ) from Dec 5 to 30 (10 am to 4 pm weekdays and Saturdays) for the public to view, free of charge.
