News Around Town: Yesterday, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School Board sat down with Superintendent Earnest Winston to hear from CMS staff as well as area medical experts in order to vote on the arrangement for the 20/21 school year. After an afternoon of both technical difficulty and lengthy debate, the Board ended with a vote 7-1-1 for Plan B+. Plan B+ includes two weeks of in-person learning on a staggered schedule to allow for adequate social distancing. After those initial weeks, all learning will be remote. Remote learning will consist of online class time with teacher’s instruction as well as independent study.
