News About Town: During Monday’s Board of Commissioners meeting, the Board voted to approve an additional two hours paid leave for town staff on the November election day each year. Commissioner Ken McCool stated when proposing the idea, “On Election Day, many Americans face conflicted loyalties: to job or to country. Many Americans opt not to vote because they are unable to take time away from work to cast a ballot – and it shouldn’t be that way.” After vigorous discussion, approval for time off passed in a vote of 6-1 (Commissioner Urban voted against).
