News About Town: At Monday’s Board of Commissioners meeting, two Town of Matthews employees were named Employees of the Year. From Public Works, Supervisor Bobby Hoxit was given the award for his integrity, positive attitude, and outstanding leadership. From the Matthews Police Department Officer Marlon Cockerham received the award. Marlon was recognized for kindness and willingness to go the extra mile. Both men were recognized for their good character and excellent examples for town staff and the community beyond.
