News About Town: The Board of Commissioners meeting agenda is available online. Once again, the meeting will be conducted remotely. One Good Thing: We can all use a little fun these days and Backyard Birds (1819 Matthews Township Pkwy #800) is providing. This Saturday, October 10, Lisa Tomkins of Carolina Heritage Nursery will have a selection of native plants for sale. She will share her expertise to help you make the best selection for your landscape. Habitat Steward, Central Carolinas Master Naturalist, and Beacon contributor Debbie LeBlanc Foster will also be at the shop. Debbie will explain the need for native plants as part of the process of certifying your yard as a wildlife habitat through the National Wildlife Federation.
