News Around Town: Seattle-based MOD Super-Fast Pizza Holdings recently purchased 13 existing MOD Pizza locations in North Carolina. This purchase includes the Matthews location, which was previously owned and operated by SD Holdings, a Matthews-based multibrand restaurant franchisee that filed for bankruptcy just before COVID-19 struck earlier this year.
One Fun Thing: Not quite 60% of Mecklenburg County residents have filled out the 2020 Census. The 2020 Census deadline has been extended to October, though, so there’s still time.
